Clemency Palmer BSc MSc CPsychol
Managing Director - The Psychology Service
Director – Therapy Division

Clemency Palmer is a Chartered and Clinical Psychologist, qualifying in 1990. During a brief spell working in the NHS, Clemency worked within Adult Mental Health and developed a particular interest in working with survivors of child sexual abuse. She further specialised in psychological trauma, both in adults and children, working with The Centre For Crisis Psychology from 1992 until 1999. During that time Clemency was involved in the treatment, both acute and longer term, of victims of serious trauma. This included undertaking regular critical incident debriefing work following incidents including armed raids, hostage takings, car, aeroplane and coach crashes, personal assaults and injury along with the impact of natural disasters. Clemency has completed her EMDR training, Level I and Level II.

Clemency has also a wealth of experience in medico-legal assessments, having worked as an expert in psychological trauma since 1992. During this time she has completed over 4000 assessments both as a single and joint expert, and is regularly instructed by both Claimant and Defendant solicitors and insurance companies.

Clemency developed The Psychology Service in 1999 and since that time her role has been divided between her own clinical work, in medico-legal assessment and psychological therapy, and her managerial role for both the Personal Injury and Therapy Divisions. As Managing Director, she undertakes a lead marketing and general management role for the company and also the supervision of the Consultants, both in respect to medico-legal assessments and psychological therapy.

Clemency is married and has four children. Her personal life focuses both on her family and her interest in horses, where she tries to ride her horse as often as possible, she also has a pony, two dogs and two cats! In the past, when she had more time, she was strongly involved in the world of eventing although she continues to enjoy riding whenever she has the opportunity (and the energy!) In addition, she also greatly enjoys supporting her husband, Sandro, in his own interest of motor racing.
