£110 + vat, deposit of £25
This year, our featured Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing workshop is hosted by Derek Farrell, a highly experienced EMDR accredited practitioner. The focus of the session will be on working with complex trauma and the use of other treatment paradigms within an EMDR framework.
Dr Derek Farrell, a Lecturer in Health Sciences (Mental Health) at the University of Birmingham, is an EMDR Europe Approved Trainer and Consultant as well as an Accredited Psychotherapist with BABCP, chairing the West Midlands Division. As a past president of EMDR UK & Ireland, Derek currently chairs the EMDR Europe Science & Research Committee along with other positions on the committee.
He has extensive knowledge and experience in the treatment of complex PTSD, the focus of his psychology doctorate, and has worked after major catastrophic events, including the training mental health workers in the aftermath of the Turkish and Pakistan earthquakes and the Indian Ocean Tsunami. He was also actively involved in the assessment and treatment of survivors of sexual abuse perpetrated by clergy and has published widely on the area.
The training day will be open to any EMDR practitioner, and will combine both training in treating complex trauma along with good opportunities for case discussion.
The cost of the workshop will be £110 plus VAT, including lunch and beverages. Numbers will be limited. Please ensure that you book your place, with a £25 deposit.
