The Psychology Service is delighted to once again invite John Spector and Michael Paterson back to Midloe Grange to present a full Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing training programme.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is widely recognised as one of the most affective forms of treatment for symptoms of PTSD and is recommended by the NICE guidelines. It is also successfully used to treat a variety of problems such as grief, phobias, other anxiety based disorders, and pain.
John Spector was the first British Clinician to be trained by Dr Shapiro (the founder of EMDR) in the USA, and he is an accredited Consultant in EMDR, an EMDR Institute Facilitator, and an EMDR Europe accredited Trainer. He is the author of several papers published in the Scientific Literature on EMDR.
Dr Michael Paterson is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist based in Belfast who specialises in the treatment of traumatic stress in emergency services and military personnel. Michael is an EMDR Europe Approved Consultant and Trainer. He was invited by Dr Shapiro to train with her as an EMDR Institute Trainer, joining the Institute's Faculty in 2006. He is currently President of EMDR UK and Northern Ireland.
The cost of the Level 1 and Level 2 training courses, which run from Thursday afternoon (2 pm registration) through till Saturday afternoon, will be £420 plus VAT each course, to include all meals and beverages. There will be a three course meal provided on the Thursday evening and a BBQ on Friday evening for any one who would like to stay on, at an additional cost of £20 each evening. Costs for the Intermediate Day is £125. A discounted rate for the whole course, payable in advance, includes a 10% discount , at £870 plus VAT.
